Kay Hamilton began working with glass at TGW in November of 2005. Up to that point, Kay had been pursuing a diverse array of artistic endeavors including calligraphy, fiber arts, dance, and creative writing. Kay brought her enthusiasm for personal expression to her long and varied teaching life. She began as a dance instructor while still a high school student, and later enjoyed a teaching career with a particular focus on creative writing. Kay is devoting more and more of her time to glass blowing. Her designs are crafted into functional pieces, pleasing in their tactile and visual qualities.
