Cecily Merrill began her artistic explorations at Mount Holyoke College in western MA. She received her B.F.A. with a major in Studio Art and Cultural Anthropology. In 2007. she installed her college thesis, "Embodied Communication", at a private home in New Mexico. The series of steel sculptures is indicative of her on-going inspiration to illuminate the narratives shared within our humanness.
Cecily was introduced to glass blowing at TGW where she dedicates herself to the practice and refinement of her craftsmanship. In her art, she strives to emphasize the sensuous and imaginative quality of glass. Much of Cecily's work is characterized by webs of color that play between the surface and depths of glass.
